| Mister was struggling to pull Samie and the Ice Warrior clear but being stock still they were a little heavy. Jim helped them and they tried to get to the TARDIS as fast as they could. The TARDIS doors opened and Mister stumbled through with Jim following close behind. Once everyone was inside Mister set the TARDIS controls and it dematerialised as the research station started falling to bits. Mister took deep breath as the TARDIS rotor started moving. "What about the moon. You're not just going to leave it to crash into Mars." Jim explained. "No, I'm going to timeshift the moon so it does crash into Mars but when it is uninhabited." Mister replied as he was tapping in the co-ordinates into the screen in front of him. The TARDIS jolted as it shifted timestreams and re-materialised above the planet with Phobos attatched. The TARDIS engines screaming to keep it steady. Mister looked at the screen and gimaced. "What's up" Jim asked. "Erm, we've just hit something while dematerialising." "What" "Beagle 2." "What's that?" Jim asked. "An earth spacecraft set to land on Mars on Christmas Day 2003. It never made it. Now I know why." "What about Phobos?" "Well I could try and dematerialise Phobos into the Phobos of this timeline. I was really looking for anywhere is the moon's past but this will be as good as anything." Mister took the controls. He started to punch in a code to send the TARDIS nearer to the orbiting Phobos so his Phobos would be merged into it. Samie was stirring. Jim went over and knelt behind her. Mister punched the last of the code in and the TARDIS sharply jolted as it dematerialised again this time managing to dematerialise and merge the two Phobos into one. The TARDIS engines gave up as it completed it's task and Mister was thrown away from the console landing into the wall and lost conciciousness. Samie sat up clenching her back. "Is this what being old is like. Oh dear." Samie stood up and looked at Mister slumped on the floor. She got up to the console and starting fiddling with the controls to try and start the TARDIS again. Jim went over to Mister to try and awake him but he was fully unconcious. Samie manages to bring the engine back online and she puts the TARDIS in a stationary orbit. She then collapses on the floor. The Ice Warrior woke up and stood up grogily. It looked confused and hiss in panic. Jim went to try and calm him down. "It's ok. You're in the TARDIS." Mister woke up. He struggled to get up and looked at the panel. "Well, it worked. Sorry Samie." Samie looked over to him. She smiled and fell out of conciousness again. "What did you do?" Jim asked. "Astral Planing. I used Samie's body to transfer my mind into temporarily to control the TARDIS. I couldn't wake myself up in time." "What about Samie?" "Very tired, but she'll be ok. She is after all an old lady." Commander Flarr stood before his Crew on the Mothership and adressed them. "To all Ice Warriors. We have a great deal of debt to give to Mister and his friends. Our planet has been saved and although it is without Phobos we now have a safe enviroment. The loss of phobos has reset the Martian Climate. It is now possible to return to our homeworld and rejoice!" The Ice Warrios present all hissed and at the back of the room Mister, Jim and Samie all stood by the TARDIS and then waved goodbye as they left in the TARDIS. It dematerialised and the Flarr smiled. "Goodbye Mister." The TARDIS rotor moved up and down and Mister sat in hsi favourite wicker chair. The console was beeping away. Jim looked concerned. "What's it doing?" "It's tracing Valour. Hopefully we'll find it." Samie entered the console room. She was looking at her hands. "You know, I'll never get use to being older, and so soom too." Jim smiled. "I like older women though." Mister laughed. " Well Samie, I think you've finally pulled Jim." THE END |
